Cookie policy

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and stores nothing in your browser. Why there is no consent banner, what the law requires, and what would change it.

Does this site use cookies?

No. This website sets no cookies of its own, on any page, in any circumstance.

It also runs no analytics, loads no tag manager, embeds no advertising or social media scripts, and writes nothing to your browser's local storage or session storage. There is no visitor identifier, no fingerprinting and no cross site tracking. That is why you were not asked to accept anything when you arrived.

You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools on any page of this site, go to the storage or application panel, and look at cookies and local storage. Both are empty.

Because there is nothing to ask you about.

Under the Irish rules that govern this, the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011, consent is required before storing information on your device or reading information already stored there, unless it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. A consent banner exists to collect that consent. A site that stores nothing has nothing to collect consent for, so a banner would be theatre.

Most banners you meet are there because the site is running analytics, advertising or an embedded third party. We have chosen not to, on a site whose job is to explain what we do and let you email us about it.

Is anything at all stored or recorded?

Two things are worth naming honestly.

Ordinary server records. Every website is served by a machine that logs the request in order to answer it: the IP address it came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user agent string. These are held by our hosting and network provider, Cloudflare, and are used to deliver the site and to block automated abuse. They are not stored on your device, they are not cookies, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.

A security cookie, if you are challenged. If Cloudflare's protection layer decides a request looks automated, it may set a strictly necessary cookie to record that a challenge was passed, so you are not challenged again on the next page. That category is exempt from the consent requirement because it exists solely to keep the service available and secure. In ordinary browsing it does not appear.

Nothing else touches your device.

What about the brief forms?

The brief form on the contact page and the brief builder on the homepage keep what you type in the page itself while you are filling them in, and nothing else. When you submit, they assemble a plain text message and hand it to your own email application. No cookie is set, no draft is stored in your browser, and nothing reaches us unless you send that email yourself. Close the tab and it is gone.

The "copy it instead" button uses your operating system's clipboard, which is under your control and not ours.

Do you use any of this to advertise to me?

No. We run no advertising technology on this site, we do not operate a remarketing audience, and we do not share anything about your visit with an advertising network. We could not build a remarketing list from this site even if we wanted to, because nothing here identifies you.

What would change this?

If we ever add analytics, an embedded video, a booking tool or anything else that stores information on your device, this page will be updated first and, where the law requires consent, you will be asked for it properly before anything is set. Rejecting will be as easy as accepting. We will not use a pre ticked box, a banner with no reject option, or a design that makes refusing harder than agreeing.

How do I control cookies generally?

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for all sites or for one, usually under settings for privacy, security or site data. Blocking cookies for this site will change nothing about how it works, because it does not use any. On other sites it may break sign in or saved preferences, which is worth knowing before you turn it off everywhere.
